John Huber receives Bragg Lewis Knutson Award

John Huber, Vice President, Financial Consultant is the 2010 recipient of the Bragg Lewis Knutson Community Service Award – Davidson Companies' highest employee honor. The award is given each year in recognition of outstanding volunteerism and community service.

John is actively involved in a variety of causes, ranging from working on behalf of animals to raising funds for a local youth center. His volunteer time is spent with organizations that include the Animal Foundation of Great Falls, Uptown Optimists, Electric City Noon Toastmasters and Heisey Youth Center.

John is a past president of the Animal Foundation and the current chairman of new membership for the group, which is dedicated to the construction of a new animal shelter to replace a 35-year-old structure. He's made several presentations to the city commission, participated in negotiations for the project and gathered support from over 1,500 individuals and businesses. He helped bring disparate groups together to begin a first phase of the construction.

His work with the Uptown Optimists includes more than eight years of time on the group's board and as President. He helped found the Cascade of Talent show and continues to support the event by driving the sponsorships and coordinating advertising design. To support the Optimists' Christmas tree sale fundraiser, he sells tickets each year and works at the tree lot to help people pick out and load their trees.

During the summer, he is involved in the Children's Cancer Golf tournament and served as chairman of the fundraising event for several years.

His nominators say John is always ready to buy Girl Scout cookies, Boy Scout popcorn, magazines, raffle tickets or anything else that supports a good cause. He also is a founding member of the Electric City Noon Toastmasters Club. In addition, his nominators say his altruism extends to the workplace; they commend him for his encouragement and support of colleagues.
